Selamat Miri Raya

Since i was on the other side of Malaysia and the flight tickets were fully booked. me and my colleagues have decided to pay a visit to Miri. We arrived late and also left early. meaning we didn't have the time to discover it fully. the first thing we did straight after checking in to our hotel was to check out the one and only McDonalds there. Fast food never tasted so good. yeah... and after that i headed off to First Oil.

Yes loctor, i am very much alive, thank you...

and no, i have not got lost in the jungles and got raped by the iBans here yet. This assignment here this time is taking up most of my time and i hardly have any material to blog about anyway. even if i had they're not really interesting pics anyway. i only managed to take a brief visit to their park, and their yet incomplete harbor view. but all in all it has resulted in rather boring pictures, so there. don't go whining to me and say my pics suck. and come to think of it. my pics suck, and it also comes with a taste of rust. damn!

i have here a few photos,

which mainly tastes like rust,

i guess very much,

that my photos have gone to dust...

Back to my life in Bintulu, ahem...

What's good to eat there? well, i can tell you, nothing much i say... most of the food are laden with MSG, even if they're explicitly told to lay off the MSG, it still feels like eating salt. to avoid them, my boss has decided to cook and also in the meantime can help us save some money. my boss fortunately, is not bad a cook himself, (and i suspect that he actually loves cooking). the dishes he whips up are not bad at all, not to mention the variety he knows. we can have porridge today then maybe curry chicken the next day. maybe he can quit his day job. it would be funny if he fried some cuttlefish/ squid, ha ha... imagine this, your boss frying cuttlefish/ squid, in Chinese it would mean getting fired, and how appropriate if your boss were doing this to you. and i am  writing this statement in the event if he reads this and i might really get the fried squid...

mMmmMmm.... Yummy~!

Next, there was this one sunday which i wasn't working. managed to take a drive to the local zoo there... there was this tiger which was oh so close to the fence, but sadly the fence was in the way, otherwise i would have gotten a really good shot of it. the park was bloody big, and one can really get lost if one isn't paying attention to their surroundings... i managed to get real close to the ostriches though... their beaks were almost touching my lens. other than that i missed out pretty much of the other displays as i have got in to the zoo/ park quite late.DSC_0040
